Entertaiment

About

Entertaiment is a broad term that can be applied to anything from a single consumer choosing a movie, book or game for personal entertainment to a global event with millions of spectators. Its etymology is derived from the Latin inter-tenere, which means to hold inside. The prefix inter means in or within, while the suffix ten comes from the Indo-European root ten meaning to stretch or hold. Like other aspects of society, entertainment evolves. For example, activities that were once used in hunting or war have become spectator sports and can even be televised. In the case of SU2C, these forms of entertainment have helped raise the funds needed to accelerate breakthroughs in cancer research, which can translate into major advances in saving lives.
